Hello Everyone,

I am a bit scared & confused. I havea few questions and would appreciate any feedback that I get.

I have not been feeling well for the past six months. I started off with excessive sweating but I do not want to call these nights sweats because it happens throughout the day. I have lost 20 lbs in the past 7 weeks because I cannot eat. I get hungry, try to eat, and I either throw up, or can only eat a couple of bites because I feel stuffed. I have a small lump on my forearm which has only developed over the past 10 days. It is only painful when I touch (kind of like when applying slight pressure to a bruise). In the past couple of weeks a few small "Lumps" or "Nodules" have developed in my stomach which are also painful to touch. I have been referred to a hemotologist due to an elevated white blood count of 15,000, low grade fever 99.5 which has been consistent for the past two months and does not respond to any kind of treatment. In addition, the my Antinuclear Antibody test was abnormal. I have had a sore throat only on the left side for about a month with an enlarged gland and under my arms hurt but I do not feel anything there. I do have a lot of pressure in my ears and I am experiencing slight hearing loss.

If I have a lump or tumor will the abdominal cat scan show this? I guess I just wanted to reach out because my husband refuses to talk about this because he is scared but I am scared also.

I spoke with my grandmother yesterday and she told me that four different family members from my grandfathers side of the family died from Lymphoma. (I wish she shared this earlier because when I was asked family medical history I said no history of cancer).

This concerns me because I looked up Lymphoma and the symptoms seem to fit. I am 32 years old and I have a three year old son. I plan on being aroung long enough to watch him get married and have his own babies. Any replies will be welcome. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this post.

HI ALONE.....Many of these symptoms can be caused by a low grade infection too so try not to worry until all of your test results are in. When I was diagnosed with lymphoma in May 2004 my doctors told me I should be thankful because "if you have to get cancer, this is the best one to get." Chemotherapy was recommended but I decided to try an alternative path instead and if you're interested in having some information on the diet, supplements and treatments I took let me know. I have just finished reading through a website which I think will be helpful for you. Dr. Ralph Moss is a highly respected specialist and his opinion on chemotherapy for Hodgkins should be reassuring if that would be treatment of choice if the need SHOULD arise. Best regards

Hello again Alone I realized that I left out the web address that I recommended for you so quickly posted a second message attaching it. For whatever reason this was instantly removed from the message board. I shall try to sent it via a private message. Shemay

Thank you so much for your response. Yes, my doctors office told me that the white blood count could be elevated due to an infection. I am just worried because of all the other symptoms that I have been having.

My doctors office is not exactly efficient either which worries me. I am going to change doctors but I do not feel it is the right time because I do not want to start all over again.

Again, thank you for your response.

Dear Alone,

PLEASE seek another physician who will LISTEN to your symptoms.  By no means am I qualified to offer medical advice, but contact your nearest hospital and ask for recommendations to an internist who will take your sypmtoms seriously..Don't put it off any longer, there may be nothing, but with a small child in your life, why take chances.  Good Luck, Lyn
