I was diagnosed with metaplastic breast cancer 4 years ago in 2003. I didn't realize when I was diagnosed how aggressive this cancer can be. In July, 2007, a PET scan found a lung nodule. Initially, they thought it was lung cancer, and removed my lobe. Three months later (November), another PET detected a spot on my pelvic bone. I have researched everywhere I can get any materials, and this stuff doesn't respond to anything that I can find. Does ANYONE have any positive experience to relate regarding Metaplastic Breast Cancer that is metastatic? I don't want to be negative, but I don't see any encouragement anywhere. I will appreciate a response.

Have you considered intravenous vitamin C treatments? A naturopathic doctor that is qualified to administer it may be of great value. I am working with an integrative oncologist that specializes in cancer and brain tumors, her name is Jean Wallace. There is Alot more that you can do to help yourself than just chemo and radiation. I hope that this helps you and I wish you the best of luck!

Hi Troeste...I agree with the message from Mittmool about seeing a naturopath and having an assessment done. I've posted my story here many times so won't go into detail here again but I and many others that I know have survived a variety of cancers using natural medicine. Intavenous Vitamin C is highly recommended as is Avemar. Here is just a little information on both and if you would like to know more please feel free to contact me privately. All the best..Shemay _____________ http://www.cancercompass.com/cancer-news/1,12705,00.htm _____________ http://www.medpagetoday.com/HematologyOncology/OtherCancers/

Hi, Sorry to hear about your Metaplastic Breast Cancer-I too am a patient for the same kind of cancer.. Completed my Chemo treatments 1 year ago and am going in for my checkk up-this is my 1st check up in 6 months so I am really nervous. I would love to keep in touch with you and see how you are doing.  I f I might ask, what kind of treatment did you receive after your surgery?  I took TAXOL and some other chemo-the  Taxol is supposed to be the best treatment for this type of cancer,  However the side effects are not so hot.  Good luck and keep in touch....

I hope your checkup went well. I had Taxol and A/C when I had my chemo. I didn't have radiation, but I think I would have had a better chance not to recur had I had the radiation treatments. Take care.

Hi,

I just read your message, and I too had Metaplastic Breast Cancer that metasticized.  Back in September I had chemo (FAC), and all tumors seem to be gone as of January.  I had one in the lung, one in my neck, and a large one in my buttocks (Weird).  These tumors seem to be able to go anywhere they want.  But, the point is, I did respond to FAC, and I follow the cancer diet; berries, mushrooms, no sugar, no white bread, no alcohol, etc.  Another key ingredient here is God and prayer, your faith has be to greater than your fear.

Hi  What is the cancer diet that you referred to with mushrooms and berries.  I had breast cancer almost 11 years ago and I have just been diagnosed with mestatis to my liver and spine..I have started on radiation to my spine, but I'm not sure as to what to do about the liver.  My doctor is talking about chemotherapy...What else can I do to lick this?  Connie

I had Taxol and AC. the metastatic cancer was diagnosed four years later. I would have had radiation if I had done research when I was first diagnosed. So little is known, each of us must be an active participant in our care and treatment.

I don't know if any of you are aware of this group, but will post the website in case it helps --- It is a group of women from all over the world who have been fighting this disease in various forms.  They are a great source of information on what has helped and what has not, support and other helpful advice.
