My Dad was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2003 and ended up having a lung removed. The cancer returned in his remaining lung in 2006 and was successfully treated with radiation. Now it's back - again in his remaining lung and his rib. We found out a few days ago it has metastasized to his brain. We are told there are three small lesions. WBRT is the only therapy he was offered. Has anyone been in a similar situation - three lesions - with any other therapy recommended or tried?
The things I'm reading about side effects are frightening and I wonder if his quality of life will be so compromised from the WBRT, we'll regret it. Any thoughts out there?
