I just had a procedure known as LEEP done for HPV/CIN2. I found the entire ordeal severely traumatizing. It frightens me to know something that dangerous is that common, and the only way to treat it is to use violent methods for cutting it off and then hope for the best. This is unacceptable. Are there any grassroots organizations around to pressure research money to be used to quickly find a more effective and reliably thorough medication to treat HPV? It concerns me that women may be too complacent about these violent methods by telling themselves the procedure worked... at least for now. I'd like to bring about change.
