My husband passed away from colon cancer this October. He was 30. I'm 27 and raising our boys alone now. Struggling with cancer was difficult enough, but adding finances makes it even worse. While my husband was home battling this disease I stayed up all night for weeks researching for a cure. I found some websites that offered financial assistance. I applied to all the foundations. It felt like a miracle when the checks started to arrive. I finally saw a smile on his face. I want to help anyone I can who is suffering financially from this crisis called Cancer. Please post your email or email me with a request for the list.
Hospice actually took my list and formated the information into their new brochures. I'm happy but shocked they didn't provide this for patients on their own. I guess we really do need to fight in everyway for ourselves. The list has the foundations numbers and websites. Email me anytime with questions. Good luck to you all. This fight can be won. Don't EVER give up.

I am very sorry to hear about your husband. You sound like a strong woman that stood beside him until the end.  God bless you and your family.  Also thank you for thinking of others at a time when I know your heart is heavy. It is a special kind of person that puts others before their selves.

I am 43 and have OC.  Since March I have only worked a few days.  I own a small business that I have always worked in myself and did not need any employees.  Now I am paying everything I make out to someone else just to keep the doors open so I will have a business to go back to.  My husband works in Iraq thank God and makes good money but it takes all he is making going back and forth to the doctor.  I drive 110 miles round trip no less than 3 times a week and most of the time 5 times a week.  I have contacted everyone I know trying to get some type of assissstance to at least help with the $3,00 per gallon gas.  I just seem to run into road blocks on every turn.  I still like 3 more cycles and I lost count of exactly what we have spent out of pocket long ago.  It seems to be an endless battle and our financial state is beginning to show it.  If there are financial resources out there I would love to get that information.

Theres yet still more,

www.healthwellfoundation.com

www.18forelife.com

The one above is for residents in Missouri.

Thank you so much for all of these. the Healthwell Foundation awarded us a large Grant, then my husband went on medicaid and they helped with our Spendown on Chemo drugs. Every little bit helps.. My husband has been batteling this stage since July 06. He was diagnosed Colorectal with mets. He hd to go on full disibility. He's still fighting and I'm still looking for assistance. Its hard to ask people for help, or at least it is for me. We do have alot of friends that have done fundraisers at first but now we are more financially tight than ever. I pray some of these will assist us and others. Thanks for your research..Ms Cheryl
