German Drug For Mantle Cell

A friend of mine has mantle cell lymphoma. He has been through many different regimens and nothing seems to be working. he asked me if I knew about a new german drug, like nitrogen mustard, that is having sucess in mantle cell. Does anyone know what drug this is it, is it available for patients in the US

It's been a long time since your question but the answer is Bendamustine.  It came out of East Germany when the wall came down.  It's in clincal trial here in the US and will probably be approved by the end of the year.  My husband has been in the trial since February 2008.  His CT scans are great but he's terribly sick.  He get a cocktail of Benda, Velcade and Ritux.  It's hard to determine what makes him the sickest.  My guess is the Velcade, we had it once before.
