Thank you all so much for your love and support through my daddy's illness.  I came to this board in search of hope, support, and understanding, and I found it.  Unfortunately though, after 6 short months, my daddy lost his battle to stomach cancer on November 17th, the day before I turned 30.  It has been hard going through my first birthday, and first Thanksgiving without that call from him telling me "Hey honey!" I am so thankful we had an energy surge from him before he passed, in which he was able to touch our faces, and tell us he loved us.    This hurts, more than any language on Earth could even describe.  I have so many memories from the man who raised me and believed in me so. I know he is still with us, and I have seen signs since he has been gone.  Again, I thank you all for your love.  I won't be a stranger here, there is still a battle to be won....it's just that another soldier has crossed the lines.  God bless to you all.

I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of your dad.  My dad is currently suffering with stage IV kidney cancer and I dread what the future holds, but hearing words such as yours - about the first birthday, holiday, etc., that they're not there for is also something I think about often.  Especially, since it involves someone who has been there for you your whole life.  Words such as yours is what helps others prepare for what you've just experienced.  God bless you and your family.

Dear Tashfish,

I am sorry for the loss of your dad.  I just lost my husband to stomach cancer February 22, 2008.  He had stage IV stomach cancer for three years and fought like a warrior.  He was the bravest man who never complained.  I miss him terribly and also have had a few signs that he is near.  Keep strong.  You will see him again.

Diane
