My younger brother just found out that his Nexavar treatments have not worked at all. He has been so very ill with it and is in lots of pain. He began the Nexavar after finishing a round of treatment for lip cancer - radiation treatment with low-level chemo. He just found out that the RCC, which has spread to his lungs, may well have attacked his pumonary artery. He is bleeding internally. He is so tired and of course depressed with this news. They told him to stop taking the Nexavar and after an mri this upcoming week they will try one last thing. I don't know what it is, but I think he said an infusion. My brother is trying to protect us all - 13 children in our family - same Mom and Dad. We are all struggling with hope at this point. Has anyone else had success afer Nexavar, any success?

Hi there please find out about the chemo pill called sutent--it has shown great results and progress in rcc--also just out is torisel and injection that seems to be showing promise--my husband has stage 4 rcc in lymph nodes and mets to the lungs he did wonderful on 5 cycles of sutent and then it started to weaken his heart so he had to go  off for 3 months his heart came back some and then the cancer really grew so he tried Nexavar and he had a terrible allergic reaction to it an dstopped then he decided to take the risk and has just finished 2nd cycle of only 25mg was on 50mg before--he handles it ok it is tough but not unbearable--he can function most of the time the 2 weeks off after the 28 day cycle is a real blessing gives him a chance to regroup and feel aliitle better but I have heard of nexavar working for people also--we are part of a kidney cancer group that a lady mary trent has started and we all can write and discuss things and lets us know there are other s tha tare going thru the same thing  if you would like the email address for our group you can email me  on a private reply as they won't let me put it on this message board--don't give up hope there is so much new research going on and new drugs coming that may just help all you rcc warriors out there live long and strong may god bless Peace, sue
