Torisel After Sutent

I went through 3 cycles of sutent and it did no good. I was then put on nexavar and it worked for a while (reduction in size of lung mets after 2 months, then no change after 3 more months, followed by increase in met size after another 2 months. 

On 11/27 I had my first treatment of torisel. 

yes my wife had taken sutnet prior to torisel. sutent showed some shrinkage at first, then she developed a bone met on her t2. After radiation for that they then swithced her to torisel.she has had 17 infusions now. her energy level is zip but otherwise tolerates it well.The last scan showed no progression, we have another scan in a week.

yes I was on Sutent first, till my platelets went down,PET Scan showed no reduction in tumor. when the platelets came back up I was put on torisel and after 6 weeks the PET scan it showed a siginficant reduction in the tumor, I am on my second 6 weeks of torisel, I get a re hydration 2 days after getting the Chemo, with Anzenet, Deks( steroids), and tagamet. Works well for me to help me have an appetite, and not get nauseaus, I have Zofran also to take in case of nausea,

 hope this helps, I am well satisfied with Torisel. I had a nephrectomy, right kidney, and it metastisized to my right lung, went to a surgeon for removal, and the tumor, was too close to the Aorta for removal, hence going to the Medical Oncologist, I am also tatooed and simulated for future radiation if needed,
