Adult Granulosa Cell Tumor

Subject: adult granulosa cell tumor

just wanted  to share  this  with all  u people out there,in june  i had the  adult granulosa cell tumor  cancer i had  surgery in july  . went threw all the  chemo treatments  it was called carboplatine  dont no if i spelled that right , any how i just  got  my ca125 test bk and  it is below 1 percent  which is excellent they say.  they say  they have not seen anyones that good  , i feel  great  and  i feel i  beat this  thing  and if i can  do it  so can u all any one that  has it. mine was at  stage 2  my overy had  ruptured and  fluid  was leaking  in  my  tummy  they  removed  both  overies my appendix  my  flopian tubes my uterus was  already removed  years  ago had cancer  in both overies and  a small spot on my intestinse  they  removed .  i no its  hard to  keep your head  up  but  we  have to or we  all  wont beat this  remember a possitive attitude is  wht  u have to  remember,  and  i now am  attending a support  group which is a help.but  i  just want to say  to  all  u woman out there  keep  strong  and  remember u  can  beat this  thing  i am 48  and i have a  long  life to  live . thanks  for letting me tell my  storie

sorry, I'm not sure what happened when I tried to post my reply to your good news a few minutes ago. may I suggest that you have your doctor also order an Inhibin A and Inhibin B blood test for you every 6 months. I am a Mayo Clinic patient and my doctor tells me that it is a better test for recurrent cancer than CA125. It is a very rare test. . .even Mayo ships the test out. Not very expensive either. Stay well.

Congratulations on your good news!!!!!!  I also have granulosa cell ovarian cancer with pretty much the same story as yours.  I am undergoing chemo treatments now.  Two more to go and maybe it will be over.  My markers are at 10 right now.  I don't really know what all that means but my doctor says that is good.

well  thank u and  good  luck two more  treatment   for u to go  it will soon be over   just  remember  just  two more to go  and  if  the  treatment s  are  only  a hour long  like mine  were just  say  ok  two more to  go  2  more  hours out of  my life .  and  if  u  get  sick  for  2  to  three  days  just  say  ok just   that many more  days  to be  sick  thats  how  i  got threw  it keep  strong    may  all of our prayers  be  with u

Congratulations on doing so well. Please know that the tumor markers you need to have drawn to monitor AGCT are Inhibin A and Inhibin B and Mullerian Inhibiting Factor / Substance (MIF/MIS). Those are the markers for AGCT, not CA125. Good luck with your continued good news.
