Subject: Revlimid and Radiotherapy - is this OK?
Date: 11/29/2007

Hi all -

I've been on Revlimid for 15 months and it seems to be starting to loose its efficacy - very gradually, but I'm now having a lot of pain in my femurs. I have been scheduled to have radiotherapy to my femurs.  Has anyone out there ever had radiotherapy while taking Revlimid??? If so, were there any side effects.  It looks as though I'll be having 4 short ZAPS over 4 days.  Any information gratefully appreciated.  Cath

Just to let you know that I did have the radiotherapy to both femurs and was told to go off the Revlimid for the week of treatment.  The pain has eased in both legs -- which is why I underwent the radiotherapy, and the only side effect so far is that I'm getting some bad cramping in my lower bowel area which comes and goes but is worse first thing in the morning.  The blood test taken while I was off the Revlimid has not shown any significant changes since the one done two weeks ago, but to be on the safe side I'm seeing my oncologist in 3 weeks for a follow up and another 'big' blood test.  I diferentiate between 'little' blood tests which require only one vial and are done weekly and 'big' tests which take 3 vials and include a paraprotein reading and complete blood picture which are done before each onclogist appointment.  So, if you are on Revlimid and need radiotherapy, here is one person who doesn't seem to have any problems after this treatment!!  Cath
