My mom was diagosed 2 weeks ago. She is still in the hospital. Her kidneys were not doing so well so they put needles in her back to drain her urine. She also just had a colostomy. She has bags all over her. We are just devastated by all of this ,she must be too. After her surgery on Tuesday for the colostomy, on Wednesday she had a blood clot in her leg. Today was her birthday. We all celebrated with her it was so hard for me to stay strong and not cry. But I quess it went well. Her kidneys are back to a normal number now and they want to start chemo. Already started radiation. She does not really want chemo because she knows what it does. But the way it sounded tonight, she is doing it because we(her children) want her to. I am not sure what she meant by that. I am having such a hard time dealing with this. All I do is pray. I can not put my rosery down. She is only 56 today. I want her to fight. I asked her if she has faith and courage. But I don't know. Anyone else out there with same situation?

It worries me to see chemotherapy used when a patient has a kidney prob. Chemo is a highly toxic treatment. May I suggest that you explore Biotherapies or immunotherapies? Something in that line of bio treatment? Toxic is an enemy as bad as cancer for someone with a kidney condition. Check the American cancer Society or the National Cancer Institute for new options before chemo. There is anew world out there in Biotechnology dealing with  Cervical cancer.....blessings
