Subject: Cone biopsy after Leep

Hey my name is Angel, i am 20 years olds. at age 19 in Jan. of 2006 i found out that i had CIN2 so i had the leep done in April of 2006, all of my abnormal cells were gone. then in Oct.06 i found out that the abnormal cells were back. now at age 20 i found out the i have CIN2 again in Aug. 07. my doctor does not want to do a leep again because i don't have children and i really want them, but she also fears that i will get worse because it came back so fast. she said she wants to do a cone biopsy but the fact is that my cervix won't be able to hold a baby because i really don't have any cervix left.

I really need to know if anyone has ever had a leep and a cone biopsy and didn't have kids, and was still able to have a baby with problems. please let me know this, i feel like im out here alone and everyone i know keeps steping around me like im glass and tell me everything is goin to be ok, and i feel like they didn't just hear what i said......Thank you all in advice

Angel:-)

Dear Angel,

I can only tell you that my doctor warned me of this possibility when he was telling me all the risks of cone biopsy with leep procedure, but he said there are things he can do to support the cervix (like sew it up) to help hold a baby in.  I wonder if your doctor can clarify whether this is an option for you or if a second opinion may help.

 Best wishes,

Elizabeth
