Subject: Development of Oncolytic viruses as potential cancer therapeutics
Date: 12/07/2007

I came across with a very informative site. Please allow me to share it to all of you this wonderful source of information. This is the site of Oncolytics Biotech. This Company is aiming to develop treatment that will bring new hope for cancer patients.

Oncolytics is a Calgary-based biotechnology company focused on the development of oncolytic viruses as potential cancer therapeutics. Oncolytics' clinical program includes a variety of Phase I and Phase II human trials using REOLYSIN(R), its proprietary formulation of the human reovirus, alone and in combination with radiation or chemotherapy.

Oncolytics Biotech proprietary reovirus formulation, Reolysin, is active against approximately two thirds of all human cancers. The respiratory enteric orphan virus or reovirus, is a harmless virus that has shown powerful anti-cancer activity against cultured tumour cell. Clinical studies have shown that reovirus, in combination with chemotherapy, may provide a one-two punch against cancer.
