Hi everyone,
I like many people worry about pains and problems that are new. Last Tuesday I woke up with a pain across my chest just below the rib cage. At first I put it down to hunger, but it didn't go away with food or drink. The pain was not excessive more annoying, a kind of throbbing pain.
I put up with it on Tuesday not really thinking much of it. I ate normally which was probably not the right thing to do as I now know that with Indigestion/Heartburn etc you should cut out fatty oily foods, and stick with plain drinks too like water etc.
On Wednesday I awoke again with the same throbbing pains which during the day would simply come and go. I decided though to book a doctors appointment on Friday to get a check up hoping it would go away before then.
Then on Thursday morning about 5am I woke up with a burning sensation in my stomach and throat which got better when sat up but got worse when I lay back down. Eventually I vomited which was an orangey brown liquid and this did ease the pain for a while.
Thursday the pain was the same and I started taking Milk of Magnesia to try and ease the discomfort. Then on Thursday evening I developed Diarrhea which I still have now on Saturday. I have been keeping an eye on my bowel movements to ensure I cannot spot blood in either my stools or vomit (which at present there is no signs).
On Friday I woke again with the same burning sensation but did not vomit this time, but still have had diarrhea. The Doctors checked me out feeling my stomach and asking whether I smoked, drunk a lot and watched what I eat. The answers are never smoked except one cigar 3 years ago. Don't drink loads, mainly weekends. But do have a poor diet and am overweight. I have lost around 4-5 pounds (2 kg) since my problems started which is mainly due to not feeling like eating rather than not being hungry.
Anyway, the doctor thinks due to me being only 31 that it is likely to be indigestion so has given me a course of Gaviscon indigestion relief, which seemed to help on Friday but not today.
This morning (Saturday) I woke up many times with the same burning sensation which led to me eventually vomiting.
It is now Saturday 3pm and I haven't eaten and only drunk water. My heartburn symptom has returned and again I feel sick. I have also had an eggy breath which according to some sites is a symptom of cancer.
As stated the pain is not excruciating but painful and I am worried that as I have the symptoms of stomach cancer that it may not be picked up at an early enough stage.
I would like to know what other people think and also what other peoples early symptoms were.
Thank you for reading.
