I had LEEP done about a week ago. I have a really foul smelling discharge and I was wondering if this is normal? If it is, how long does it normally last? Also, my doc told me to go for a follow up in 6 months but I have been seeing posts that others are getting follow ups in two weeks. Should I go sooner? Also, my doc said that the type of HPV that I have does not cause warts. Does that mean that the warts are just where I can not see them (inside) or is it just cancer cells like she said? Is HPV always warts? Ok, one final question: I am NOT promiscuos at all and I know my boyfriend of 1yr and 1/2 is not either. I have had normal paps since I have been with him also... How is it that I have this??? Any advice or shared stories would be greatly appreciated! I feel so gross for having this! I have NEVER had an STD before and have only been with very few men in my life. I guess these things can happen to anyone!

A foul-smelling discharge is indicative of infection. Definitely call your doctor. In regards to HPV, it is frighteningly common, considering that nobody has done research to find medication to treat something so dangerous. Most of the women I personally know had only one or two partners, who obviously picked it up from previous partners. The saddest  stories are of women who learned their husbands were cheating when they were diagnosed with HPV.

I know that you posted this message a while ago and I am currently going threw the same thing. I just had my leep on Jan 11.08 and I still have that discharge it's been about two weeks!I kinda wanted to know the outcome to see if maybe I have the same thing,I really would like to know and if you could maybe give me a little information I would appreciate it

It took over three weeks for that discharge to go away! But not only that, my surgery site opened back up and I almost bled to death! They said that dosent happen very often though. Anyway, I would say that you will most likely have that for about another week or two. I know its terrible!
