My PSA was 76.4 and Gleason of 9. I was 56 yrs. My biopsy was 16 punches. Four were PIN, 7 of the other 12 had tumors up to 15% of volume. My rectal MRI showed the cancer was outside the prostate, but the doctors did not say how far. Bone and CT scans did not show any spread to bones or nodes so far. The Drs said surgery would statistically not be able to get all the cancer so radiation was my best choice. I started on Casodex for 4 months and hormones for 2 years after the radiation. I also had 12 infusions of Avastin which was from a study group I got in.
My PSA is now 0.01, but I am on the hormones for 18 more months.
Does anyone know of anyone with these high scores that survived any length of time until the PSA started up and the cancer returned? Or any other info that might be useful.
