I was diagnosed with stage 3c Ovarian cancer June 05. I was 38 years old. I had a full hysterectomy followed by taxol and carbo chemo. I was ok until June this year. After my CA125 shot up, i had a scan which showed the cancer has spread to my liver and numerous other embarrassing places. I started carbo chemo again, but stopped it after two cycles. The treatment was  worse than the pain. My treatment is only palliative anyway. I have now decided to have more chemo, as im experiencing a lot of pain. I am married with two grown up Daughters. Im scared that my life is coming to an end. I was told back in June 07 that i would only live a few more years at the most. Is there any one out there like me? I feel so alone

Hey, Don't get discouraged. Your youth is a big plus and there are alot of other chemo options besides the ones you have tried.  Find a cancer center near you and get a new opinion on chemo options, look into clinical trials, there is alot of stuff going ON!!! :) If you are into nutrition at all get Mina Dobic's book, My Beautiful Life. I believe some oncologists can be a little more negative than they need to be just so they don' t get their patients hopes up. Statistics are just a way to keep score...they mean nothing to your individual case! Check into the new treatments that stop blood vessel formation, anti andiogenics.

All it takes is for one thing to work well in your specific case. Keep searching!

Dear "Pray for Healing"

My mother has stage IV ovarian cancer (diagnosed year and a half ago) which has now spread to her liver.  She has had 2 separate rounds of Chemo and participated in another 2 clinical trials.  She is still quite strong and her quality is life right now is very good.  You mentioned in your message

Dear Praying for healing,
My mother has stage IV ovarian cancer (diagnoised over year and half ago) which has now spread into her liver.  She has had 2 separate rounds of chemo and participated in 2 other clinical trials.  She is still quite strong and her quality of life right now is quite good.  She is committed to fighting and winning this battle.  You mentioned in your response you had a tumor burnt off your liver recently.  Was this a radiation treatment.  My mother's physician is recommending a certain type of lesion removal which "burns" the lesions off in effort to kill them.  Is this similar to what you had?  We agree, there are so many new advances that no one should give up....just keep looking and keep praying for the cure!

It's called Radio-frequency ablatin.  It was just recently aproved for Ovarian cancer with mets. to the liver.  So, we now wait to see if it worked.  Let me know if I can be of any help to your mom.  Or if she has any questions about what to expect.
