Nexavar Questions??

My husband, who is 30, was diagnosed with stage IV liver cancer in July 07.  He has 2 large tumors, 10 and 6 cm and some smaller ones.  We live in NM and travel to Baylor Hospital in Dallas Texas.  He has received 2 chemotherapy treatments so far, but just found out today that the chemotherapy is no longer working.  Our oncologists wants my husband to start using Nexavar.  I have done some research so far and identified the potential side effects.  Can anyone provide feedback on their personal experiences and maybe things that I should be aware of.  Thanks for your help and support!

Hi:  My dad has been taking Nexavar for two months now.  The side effects are very dry hands and feet9Or all over), high blood pressure, and some stomach cramping and diarreha.  My dad moisturizers his body twice a day and hasn't really suffered with the dry skin badly.  His scalp was the worse but it is so much better.  The raise in blood pressure should be monitored.  My dad hasn't suffered much with the stomach problems.  My family have  had positive results with the nexavar.  The doctors feel it has shrunk the small tumors.

 

Have you looked in to SIRT.  It is a radiation technique that targets the liver tumors.  My dad had it done yesterday and he said it is painless.  He will know in 6 weeks if it has reduced the tumors even more.
