Date: 01/08/2008 My sister was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer Stage 4 or 5 back in Sept. 2006. In October 2006 she had radical chemo and internal and external radiation done to get rid of the huge tumor on her cervix. Things were not looking good for her back then, but now she is fine. She has been doing great ever since, so far she has been cancer free and doing very well. Until......................................Now. All of the sudden she is having very large blood clots coming from her rectum and bleeding from her rectum and pain in her lower abdomen (intestines) and very hard to poop, constipation etc.... Could her Cancer be back again? Or could his be just the after affects of having radiation and chemo? Please help. She is only 40 years old with 5 children. Thanks. I'm sorry i now know that there is no stage 5 cancer. But i knew she was in the last stage or the one before that one. So i found out she had stage iii cancer, where it traveled into her vagina walls and into one lymph node etc... So she had it bad, but not stage iv.Thanks. Date: 02/29/2008 Delayed effects of radiation can be quite significant. But she should make no assumptions--it's not normal and she needs to see a specialist... Date: 06/13/2008 Having the exact same side effects as your sister. I too am terrified at this point. I went through 45 external and 2 internal radiation treatments. 6 Chemo sessions. Stage 3 also. I didn't have too much trouble during all the treatments but about 5-6 months later the same thing started happening to me. I have an appointment scheduled in a month for my every three month follow up. But I am scared. I hope that it is a late side effect from all the treatments.
