I know everyone would like to know a time line for losing a loved one but I have been told anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months.  My mom's last bloodwork revealed a total bilirubin of 46!  She sleeps most of the day and is itching.  Hospice has put her on Atarax for the itching.  She is down to 95 pounds.  I live 1000 miles away and have made 3 recent trips and of course want to be there for her.  Should I stay here until she has more symptoms or be with her now?

I would try to be there with her.  Ypu never know when she will be called to God.  Is she aware of her surroundings???

You are in  my prayers.

Hello,

I am not sure if you are already with your mom but if not, go now.  My father went very quickly and while I was with him everyday, I still wish I spent every waking minute with him his last few weeks.  Be with your mom-for yourself and for her.  You may regret not being with her.

You and your mom will be in my prayers.

Nola

I have regrets for not taking the time to spend with my father before his death. So, go and be with your loved ones, don't wait. Jobs, money mean nothing later on. There are some things in this world you can't buy.
