Secondary Liver Cancer

My friend was diagnosed with cervical cancer last year. She had a full hyster and lymph glands removed, when they did the scan they found it had spread to her liver, she is on 5fu and leucovorin, the treeatment is not having an effect on the tumor and I am worried, I know she wont have long - can anyone give me any information, she finds it impossible to tell me whats happening, it takes me weeks to get things out of her.

I am a worried and scared friend.

What are the best drug combinations for the
above mentioned case? Any other options?

I haven't been able to find anyone you has my type of cancer. I know my chemo is treated as if it could be coming from the breast, uterus, lung, Etc. I just started Taxol and Carboplatin. They will do 3 treatments every 21 days. After the the treatments we will do another ct to see if my 6 by 9 cm. tumor has shrunk. I have been told that the do not have a cure but I can manage it with chemo. So far almost in into two weeks of chemo treatment and I feel great. It is a little difficult to lose your hair. I guess it is better than losing my life.

I have hope that I will be cured some day. I have to have faith.

I am from Tustin California. I am 36 and was diagnosed after two months of extensive tests. I am finally starting my treatments.

what made you think yu were poorly to start with?

I was having upper quadrant abdominal pain. My Doctor ordered a gallbladder u/s. Which found the tumor on the liver and the gallstones. If I didn't have any sx of the very small stones they found. I probably would of never found out.

Were your lymph glands clear or not nettie?

They checked my lymph nodes. I my tests came back negative. The only abnormal test I have is the Apha feta protein and the Alk/phos test. Even they are not high. My liver test alt and ast are normal. Weird how I can have a 6X9 CM tumor on my liver and have it funtion normal. All my markers have come back normal. Except for the pathology stating it was Stage Four Metastatic adeno carcinoma of unknown primary. I am so confused and frustrated. I want to have Hope but my doctors are not giving me anything to be hopefull about. I guess I just have to go by how a feel and I feel great. It would be so nice too find someone out there who is going through the same thing as me.

Give your friend some time. I know I get overwhelmed with everyone. Sometimes I avoid telling my friends whats actually going on because I do not want them to hurt. Be patient.
