Cancer Vaccin

My Dad who had Stage 3(T3N1M0 ) EC had his total esophagactomy done on NOV28. Histo pathology report says that he had 2 out of 6 paraesophegal nodes positive and 2 out of 6 gastro esophegal nodes also positive.Our surgon is asking us to go ahead with Chemo and radiation after 2 months

My Dad's current weight is only 36 Kgs around 80 Lbs. We are scared of side effects of chemo and radiation and seriously looking for some alternative therepy.

We already strated Ayurvedic and Homeopathy treatments.

I came across dendrtic cell therepy ( vaccin).I want to know if any one have tried this treatment and how effective it can be.
Any suggestions and comments are welcome.

Hi Mohit,

       I am sorry your Dad has to go through this. My 76 year old mother was diagnosed with the same stage in Dec 07. She could not have surgery due to bad lungs but had a very aggressive chemo and radiation for 5 1/2 weeks. I was scared to death of the chemo. I had heard so many bad things about it. The first time my mother took chemo I keep asking her every 5 mins if she were OK. She had some rough times,being tired and sick but most of the side effects can be controlled with medications. You just have to make sure to keep the Dr informed of any problems. My mother was on 2 kinds of chemo and radiation. I am thinking your Dad's treatment would not be as aggressive as my mama's treatment was since he had the surgery.  I wish you and your Dad the best. Keep us posted.
