My sister's name is Terry and she cooks for the homeless on Wed. and Saturday evening as well as managing a center that lets them stay the night and shower.

She has been working on a catering kitchen, done all with donations, that will teach the homeless how to cook so they will be able to get work.

I will pass your message onto her and pray for you!

She is supposed to get the results to her tests tomorrow.

Thank you!

Hi Marlene,

No, you are definiately not the only one having problems after this surgery, Mark, my forever fiance' is barely surviving, He's 48 and in fact, they said he won't make it 4 more months if he don't gain weight. He had his whipple in 2006 and last month he had another surgery to resect his dudoduem from one side of his stomach to the other because it was stopped up with scar tissue and no food was being digested, it would sit in his stomach and rot.  It took us 6 years to get the doctors to believe something was wrong.   Now they said he should be fine but he's not, he can't eat, he has no energy and he is down to 98 lbs but he is cancer free and his stomach is fixed so the surgeon said the rest is up to him to try to eat and gain weight.  But please don't feel like it is just you the way the surgeon wants you to think.  Have you tried any doctors that specialize in the digestive system?  I know their hard to find that deal with whipple patients.  Hang in there and be strong, I'll pray for you.

Hi,   I am so Sorry that Mark is going through this, I Hope and Pray that his stomach will start working again.

I can't believe that it took 6 years to get the doctors to believe him that something was wrong then again I can believe it considering all the doctors I have seen who say that they are baffled.  When all your tests come back normal and your telling them that your not normal the way your feeling they look at you like you have 2 heads.

One thing Great that Mark has is You by his side, when going through all of this it is so Important to have someone by thier side who is Supportive, Loving and Carring.

Please let Mark know that we (all on this site) will be praying for him.  Please keep me posted on how he is doing.

Marlene

Thank you so much for your kind words, they sure were needed, Mark tells me not to worry but I have been so frustrated because I can't just "fix" him. I keep searching for the answers but can't find them.   Your words brought me to tears, but it feels good just to let it out.  I will tell Mark what you said, that will make him feel good.  I think I have found the answer here, for us to just be supportive of one another is probably the best medicine there is for helping and healing.  Thank you so very much,

Kim

Rick,

We have called the doctors office several times and they keep saying they are in the review process.  We were supposed to get them last week, then Monday and here it is almost Thursday and still no answer.  Amazing that you want someone to think they have days but won't say one way or the other.  I know...pray for patience.

I will post when I return from Nashville on Saturday...if we have anything by then.

Thank you for the prayers and God Bless!

She's in Nashville, TN.  The ministry is Lambscroft and they have a website for interested volunteers.

I'll be watching. We had our prayer vigil tonight I mentioned. I got her name on the list and gave some history about her volunteer work. She should have felt somewhat comforted between 7 & 9 PM EDT, we have some awesome "Prayer Warriors"!  If you get results you can mail me at rickash@windstream.net if you want. My wife and I will keep her on OUR prayer list until she is cured.

Hang in there Alathea. Who is your oncologist in Nashville I'll ask mine about himher without mentioning any names. See what he thinks.

God does give us trials. But he also comes through with Grace quite a bit too!

God Bless,

Rick

Rick,

Her doctor's name is Dr. William Polk and he's actually her surgeon.  She has no oncologist except the doctor treating her with the neoplas, Dr. Cantrell.

I just returned from 2 days with her and the fluid swelling is much worse now, moving down her body to her knees, ankles and feet as well as the stomach.

Doctor finally called and said they didn't run the right tests last time so she is to go in Monday and have it done again.  All of this waiting for results and more waiting but in the mean time, she can hardly walk.

I fear it is ascetites indicating cancer in her liver or kidneys or if the fluid keeps building it will surround her lungs with water.  Monday can not come soon enough!

She catered a wedding for 300 on Friday, even though she can not take anything for the pain until the tests are done.  I don't know how she manages.

Oh, Alathea,,,,,

I was praying and hoping for any kind of good news! How far away do you live?

Hard to believe she would cater a 300 person wedding with the pain she must be in. My MS-Contin refill was Friday. No fear for another 24 or 25 days until I have to sweat Fed Ex prescriptions.

We are praying for her at chirch. Went ahead and put out a prayer request on the church software and reached about 300 people.

Keep me informed. I just don't like the way this all is going!

Rick
