My wife  had symptoms that required a CT scan. The CT indicated cancer in her left kidney and a tumor in her left lung. A biopsy of the lung tumor was completed which indicated malignancy (lung cancer). The kidney was removed and that was found to be lung cancer not kidney cancer. This is adenocarcinoma in a never smoker. We are considering the Cancer Treatment Centers of America (Tulsa). We are looking for anyone that can give us a recommendation to go there or not.

I couldn't figure out how to edit my message. I have already determined that the Cancer Treatment Centers of America is not going to be an option due to the cost. So, we are looking for other recommendations and success stories.

The first thing is to find doctors in your area that insurance will cover. I had to make some different choices including not going to the Cancer Treatment Center because my insurance would not cover. Ask people you know who have had contact with people treated for cancer and get their input. Not all doctors and treatment centers match your personality and needs. Find one you are comfortable with. Also do research and add to what your doctor recommends. My doctor does not mind me adding dietary supplements and alternative medicine along with my Tarceva, however, some will not allow you to do this. I go to a chiropractor who is also a nutrition guru and have been following his advice.
