I am concerned - as I read these different messages it seems with lung cancer there is a large amount of brain involvement either initially or eventually. Am I wrong about this? My husband was dx 18 months ago with lung cancer and I am concerned about it spreading. Thanks, Nancy C.

When lung cancer spreads, the brain is one of
the areas it can spread to - apparently, some
cancers more likely to spread to the brain than
others, and this is one of them. The good news
is that it sounds like your husband was caught
reasonably early, so that is good. When my
husband was diagnosed 5 months ago, it had
already spread to the brain, as well as other
places. He did not have any symptoms, but is now
dealing with the severe side effects of whole
brain radiation.
