My husband (39 yrs. young) was diagnosed with Gastrointestinal cancer in June 2005 at Loyola University. He did 3 rounds of chemo and 5 weeks of radiation. On Dec. 1, 2005 he was supposed to have a total gastrectomy. He had taken all of the scan (pet, ct and an endoscopy)they all came back negative. The surgery was supposed to take 4 hours. After two hours of surgery, my family and I was informed that the surgery was over.
The surgeon came out and told us that after going in, he found that the cancer had spread to several parts of the abdominal cavity. The cancer had not yet invaded the organs but it's growth did prevent him from having the surgery. We were told at that time that he would have chemo again. We were told that they didn't really think it was going to work but that was what they had to do. The doctor said that they gave him 6 to 12 months to live if he didn't have the treatment and 6 months to whenever if he did.
Since his surgey, he had been having back pain as well. I contribute this pain to the spinal tap that he had while prepping him for surgery. This may be the same with your husband. I had a tap in 93 when I delivered my daughter and still have major back pain.
Please contact the Cancer Treatment Centers of America for continued support of your husband. They have a wonderful Mind, Body and Spirit philosophy. They combine traditional treatment with natural treatments. I am praying that they can help my husband. They have a very optimistic view and they is exactly what we did right now. Peace and blessing to you and your family. I with you good health and happiness.
