Tarceva side effects

My mom started taking Tarceva for lung cancer about 1 week ago and initially got a mild facial rash but now complains about painful areas in the corner of her mouth, inside her nose and the corners of her eyes.  I read about these side effects and it looks like people use the Lindi Face Serum to relieve discomfort.  But she is also complaining of ulcers on her tongue and gums under her dentures, making eating very painful and is thinking about changeing to puree foods.  Does anyone else have this complaint and if so, what helps with this?  And has anyone used the Lindi Face Serum for the sore mouth and and eye areas and is it effective?

Hi.  My mom has lung cancer too.  Currently using standard chemo drugs but the doctor did mention this Tarceva as a possible next step.  He talked about the rash side effects but I don't remember his talking about mouth sores.  Is this common?

Did you mom do chemo too?  It just makes my mom so tired and sick.

My mom is not taking the chemo...just the Tarceva.  So far she just has the itching and skin irritation.  Good luck to your mom.

that sounds like me, sand in the eye corners, nose sores, come and go. i use antibiotic cream ariund the inner edge before bed, the toung ulcers may come and go also i used glutimine powder, it is tasteless mix with water swish and sallow, ulcers can be on the tongue and down the throat. hang in it gets better  every 3 weeks my hands get red and sensitive alone with my face, but this drug has a 695 SURVIVAL RATE....HANG IN THERE IT GETS BETTER ,GOOD LUCK  DON'T KNOW ABOUT LINDI
