I am so happy to have found this site and appreciate all I have learned from reading your messages. I had been on Femara for 12 months and experienced terrible joint and muscle pain, especially in my hips. I, too, felt like I was aging rapidly and had trouble moving around and playing with my grandchildren. My Dr. had me go off the medication for 6 weeks to see if my symptoms were result of taking it and I have gotten welcome relief from the pain. Yesterday, I returned to the oncologist to see what my next course of action would be. Although I am feeling better, I had this constant fear about not having the extra protection I needed. I was surprised when he suggested that I not go on other medication. He informed me that I would probably have all the same side-effects no matter which of the 3 inhibitor drugs I tried, and discussed the quality of life issue with me. I was surprised at his suggestion since I am only 57 and hopefully have years ahead of me. I told him I was not really ready to give up on the medication and so he told me to try Aromasin. After reading this site, I'm not sure what to do; live with the pain or the worry. I think I am at least going to try this new drug to see if I can tolerate it better than the Femara.
