Hi! My mom was diagnosed last October 2007 of Ovarian Cancer Stage IV with CA-125 level 2,200 and we started chemo last November 2007. After her 2nd chemo it was down to 1,400 but after the 3rd chemo her CA-125 went up to 1,996.00. I mean is it normal that it goes up and down?
She gets depress whenever she thinks about it.
Please help.
Hi,
I am a RN -my mohter in law was recently diagnosied with stage III C ovarian CA as well. What they are looking for with the CA 125 test is the amount of cancer in the body. I will tell you if you are interested it is important to not only do the convential with your mother but the homeopathic apporach as well. You need to do the research on line - or you can get hooked up with at Naturapathic Dr. you need to find one that is not finiacal about doing it there way or no way. I started my mother in law off on homeopathic medicine and hollistic medicine to boost the immune system and her first blood work was better then the Dt. could imagine. This web site is hosted by CTCA- they are a really good group who believe in the whole person- Mind, body and soul. That is so important. It is also important for you mom to have a positive attitude.
I do not know if you are a religous person or not, but faith is what gets us through as well. I my self was diagnosied last yr with Breast Cancer- but thankfully I did not have to undergo chemo as they caught it quickly- I am in the process of going through reconstruction surgeries. I do hollistic and convential apporach to my treatment as well as my mother in laws.
I will keep you both in my prayers- I know this is a trying time- but God will give you all the strength to go through all of this- you just have to ask.

to talk more privately- if there is anything I can do to help you or stear you in a direction I will certainly try. Hang in there and keep the faith. Although this cancer is only treatable not cureable people can live a long time with it.
