My husband has RCC, stage 3/4.  He had the original tumor (around the kidney, but not involved) removed.  They are tracking the mets spots on his lungs.  We do not find any encouragement from the info on any of the chemo treatments.  There just has not been enough studies to prove anything clearly, so at this point we are working on alternative lifestyle changes, etc.

When ask, the oncologist said there was no evidence to indicate that Protocel helped with RCC.  However, since there have actually been no trials for RCC and Protocel, we are wondering if anyone has had success, or failure, using it as a treatment.

Thankful for any input you might have.

I am sure that Protocel fills the pockets of those that sell it.  I know of no evidence that it should do anything at all to cure RCC.

hi

my husband is 40 and was diagnosed with RCC in 2000, he had a reccurrances in 2002 & 2004, no treatment was given except for removal of adrenal gland in 2002. yearly ct scans were done. in Jan he was diagnosed with metastatic in his spine in two places, some spots in his lung and possibly in the other adrenal gland. All this did not show up in his yearly CT scan!!

Only when he did a PET scan it showed up the places it had gone to. He is in stage 3/4

he has just concluded radiation therapy  and been recommended to take NeXAVAR. I have been checking out sites in the internet and it shows that nexavar (sorafaneb) is showing some positive signs of improvement in patients RCC.

He will be starting on Nexavar in a week and we are hopeful it will help. Please check out Sorafaneb (Nexavar) or speak with your oncologist regarding this drug.

Hope this might help. All the best.

Thank you for your response.  Would you be able to tell me what clinic you are using?  With this type of cancer, the alternatives look as good as or better than pharmacueticals.

The clinic I go to is in Canada in a city in Southern Ontario. I am presuming you are located in the USA and if so here is a directory that should help you find one there. ______________________________________________________________ http://heartspring.net/naturopathic_directory.html ______________________________________________________________ If you would like to send me a private message I can give you more information as to what services and treatments to look for and also information on the diet, supplements and treatments that have worked for me.
