We just refuse to give up.

The Gemzar, Tarceva and Oxplatin shrunk the tumor on my mother's pancreas about 20% in two months. Her only complaint is tiredness. We hoped to shrink it enough to operate, but the tumor is on the artery at the head of the pancreas and she is not a candidate for surgery or Cyberknife.

Does anyone  have other suggestions for any kind of procedure to get this tumor Out - is there a chemotherapy injection directly to the tumor site?

Please check out Randy Pausch's Home page.  I'm sure you have heard of his famous "Last Lecture."  But if you haven't, he is a Pan Can patient who has undergone a number of treatments.  Here is a link to his page:

My brother has cancer wrapped around a blood vessel at the head of the pancreas....he is in a clinical trial...having chemo (with radiation lurking in the near future) and a trial drug...the hope is to "blast" it off the blood vessel...thus surgery would be possible...guess this entire waiting period  would take at least seven months to see if this might be possible......although I have read other accounts that persons have had the cancer either easily peeled off ...or having surgery which was like getting concrete off.....not sure why some are entitled to this type of surgery.....  very tired of this waiting and guessing game..........
