I have lung cancer--responded well to one year of chemo(Gemzar) with shrinkage of the tumor, and feeling great. I have been in remission for a year. I was offered by my doctor to join a clinical trial of 5000 patients in 40 countries, for Tarceva. I am O.K. now--should I leave well alone, or join the clinical trial in the hope that it will remain stable for many years to come. I am somewhat suspicious: Why should I be a candidate for Tarceva if I am doing so well after chemo. I am 77 years old. Any advice will help me decide. Thank you.
