My husband took procarbazine along with high dose methotrexate and vincristine for primary cns.  This is non-hodgkins lymphoma which started in his brain.  Unfortunately this combination failed June 2007 after 5 cycles.  He did very tolerating all the above drugs.  After the chemo failed he underwent 33 rounds of whole brain radiation along with 160mg of temodar.  This put him into complete remission late July 2007.  He is taking temodar 420mg 5 days on and 23 off as a maintenance chemo.  He remains in complete remission with no abnormailites as of Feb.7, 2008. Don't give up hope and the best to you and your dad.

Thankyou for your reply. I am glad that your husband is doing well with his medications. My dad, however, is not tolerating the Procarbazine. He turns really red on his head, wheezes, and can't catch his breath. His blood pressure raises and drops. He has been in the hospital a few days now. The oncologist said there is other medication he can take due to his poor heart. His chemo regimen is Etopocide and Procarbazine. He was taking them in conjuction with Prednisone, but the steroids were raising his blood sugars. I am going to talk to his Oncologist tomorrow. The chemo seems to be doing more harm than good. It is literally taking a toll on my Dad.
