Hi,

My father is stage 4 NSCLC. We are in Turkey. to be honest I do not trust doctors here. Therefore I really appreciate if you can provide the name of the doctors or hospitals that are the Best according to you.

I am also trying to get some consultation from other doctors. I am ready to pay. Do you know any doctor that can help us for this.

Thank you all very much...

From what I understand, sloan-kettering hospital
(I think it is in new york), md anderson in
houston are both top notch. I would look and see
where you have relatives or some sort of support
in states if you are looking to come to the us.
I see a great deal of research articles from
doctors in the UK. I would look up on internet
and see which hospitals tend to publish a lot of
lung cancer research and call those hospitals.
My husband's treatment is at ochsner cancer
institute in new orleans, louisiana. They are
good and we chose them because it is only an
hour and half from home. They do clinic trials
and I believe Dr. John Cole is doing most of the
trials. Good luck and I hope this helps.

I have found it best to find a pulmonary oncologist, especially
for me at a university that is involved with research and trials. I
would think there would be a lot going on in Germany (or the
UK as the previous reply said). Best of luck from California. I
goto UC Davis in Sacramento, about 2 hrs from where I live. I
am also stage 4 nsclc, dx in sept 04. Ellen

I had a reoccurance of lc in my right lung 2 yrs after surgery where I had the plura, lining of the lung and diaphram removed. It came back in my hip bone that radiation knocked out successfully and in the right lung and bronchial tube. I had radiation seeds in the bronch, which cleared my airway, and now I'm on 300mg a day of tarceva and avastin every 3 weeks. Although after my first treatment of avastin, I developed a blood clot in my right lung. (They said if it was in the left one I would have died). I skipped the next treatment and went on blood thinners and now the docs are recommending I go back on the avastin because I had scans and the tumor in the lung shrunk 60% which they thought would never happen. They don’t know what of this radical treatment is working but think I should stay on same regimen. Btw, I was also on 400mg a day of caliber that I stopped. Happy to discuss with anyone.

I can not say which doctor's best or the hospital. However, talking about anti-cancer formulation for late(advanced) NSCLC, I would say "kanglaite injection" is one of the most effective emulsive formulation. It comes from a herb "coix" without obvious side effect. It can directly kill NSCLC tumor cells while greatly improving patient immunological function. In your Turkey, several cancer patients have applied "KLT injection". If you need to buy it or just want to know more about this product.

I have found it useful to set up email alerts on www.google.com/alerts

That way, you receive every day in your inbox anything new that is on the web to do with lung cancer or whatever you choose as the subject for your alert.

Hope this helps
