Hi Shelly,
Thanks for replying to me. My husband is 60 years old...NEVER been sick a day in his life until this mess. I am 42 yrs. old. We just got married in October 07....we've been together for 8 years, though, so I'm not feeling sorry for myself that we don't have the typical happy newlywed bliss. Bliss Cancer is not!
He just went in for a ruptured patella tendon operation....I guess the orthopedist saved his life....at least I hope so! We'll see how this all goes. His first round of chemo has been, so far, very good for him. He only had a couple of nights of the night sweats. He has gained a few pounts..I guess from the prednosone they gave him on the start of each round?
I know about the crying spells....been there, done that. Now, I'm just angry, I guess, that this THING has invaded our lives. WHY? He just retired from the military....back in May 07. But, then, reading your reply, I feel so selfish....you're husband is only 33 years old. How old are you? Do you have children? This must be so difficult for you.
I lost my father to cancer back in 1992. I think that if they had the technology they do today, he may have been still alive. Don't give up hope! I am in NY...where are you? I will say a prayer for you and your husband and family. Keep the strength, and I will ALWAYS be here for you if you need to talk also.
Take care and I hope to hear from you soon!
Marie
