I am 33 and I had an abnormal pap in November.  I was scheduled for a biopsy in December and was told that I had CINIII/High grade lesion, which from what I kept reading was cancer, just not invasive.  I was freaked!! Reading online can make anxiety worse.  I suffered the next few weeks waiting for my LEEP procedure.  I had myself dying, in my mind, it was awful.  I had the LEEP done in the hospital as an outpatient.  It wasnt bad at all, except for the grogginess from anesthesia.  I want to let everyone know that my pathology came back MILD DYSPLASIA WITH A 1 MM FOCI OF MODERATE DYSPLASIA, MARGINS CLEAR, which my doctor says is nothing to worry about.  By posting this message, I am hoping to clear some anxiety that I am sure some of you are feeling.  Hopefully, everything will be ok, it can happen, it happened to me.  I feel for every one of you, the whole thing is nerve racking - waiting for results is CRAZY!! I pray that yours comes out ok too.   Please feel free to ask me any questions, I'll help as much as I can, Ive done a lot of research and I'm also a nurse.

I also wanted to post some positive news...I am 34 and was diagnosed witih CIN III.  I had the Leep (I would recommend getting knocked out if possible, as my experience was not very good).  My results came back still showing CIN III non invasive.  Well as You can imagine I was shocked.  My Dr. told me to come back in 4 months for another pap.  I did and this time it showed just a few abnormal cells, no sign of CIN at all.  So it cleared up.  I still have to go in every 4 months for a year.  Then back to once a year if no problems.

I am relieved to have this news, but am also still thinking in the back of my mind if maybe tests were mixed up, or maybe this last pap she didn't swab very good, etc....but for now I am going to try and keep my chin up and assume the LEEP did the trick....

Hey, glad to here your progress is going well! I have a question about the original high grade/CIN III cells you had - were they in the cervical canal or on the outside? My doctor noticed some abnormal cells during my colposcopy yesterday but they were only in the canal, not out. I'm freaking out that they could be precancer or cancer. Any thoughts? Since you have done more research and are also a nurse, I was wondering if you had any advice or comfort that I can get out of this alive. Do you know if abnormal cells inside the canal are any worse than those outside - or if the difference is negligible. Also, is treatment any harder for cells inside the canal? I am going nuts waiting for the results - one day down, 5ish to go! Agggghhhh!!! Thanks so much for anything you can share!
