My mother's CEA more than doubled since the time she has been off chemo...She just restarted it, but I don't know how long she will tolerate it...she started monitoring her diet more and is taking more supplements...any new chemo drugs out on the horizon...soon?

Hi I just read your message.  I have been off chemo since Oct
2006 My CEA has been around 4 this last time it went up to 12 in just 3
months.  My oncologist made me have a pet scan and ct scan.
I will find out the results tomarrow.  She said it does not always
mean its a cancer reacurruance.  Did your mom's dr. do any other
testing?  I am hoping and praying my outcome is not cancer again I
have been feeling so good.  I would like to know the stage your
mom was diagnosed at.  There are several chemo a friend of mine
had a small tumor in her liver and they put her campostar.  She
has done very well.  Stay in touch cookie mouse you and your mom
our in my prayers.  jean

Can I ask if your mom has been on Avastin maintenance?  4 weeks seems such a short time for that rise.   (had it gone down alot before?)

hello, can i ask what chemo drugs you mom WAS on? and what chemo drugs she NOW on?

KEEP MOM OFF ALL SUGAR...EVEN FOODS THAT BREAKDOWN TO SUGAR...IS A NO NO!!!

where do you live?  if you live in the usa then go to your nutritional store and get her on

1. ip6 w/inositol plus cats claw and maitake mushrooms.....have her start taking 8 of these capsules a day. (google ip6 w/inositol...wonderful reviews on this supplement)  a wowowowowow supplement.  what this supplement does is deliver oxygen back into the cells.  also, IP6 W/INOSITOL HELPS ONE TOLERATE CHEMO THERAPY.  HELPS TAKE THE PUNCH OUT OF CHEMO THERAPY. helps keep the good cells normal and helps the bad cells turn to good cells during chemo therapy.

ip6 has no side effects.  (i myself take ip6 just for prevention...i take 3 capsules a day) but cancer patients should increase to 8 to 12 capsules a day.

2. vitamin D

3. vitamin A   use a 10 to 1 ratio of vit. A and vit D....(example 8000 ius vit D and 80,000 ius vit A)

4. acai juice (organic)

5. cod liver oil (2 1/2 Tablespoons a day)

6. flaxseed OIL mixed with cottage cheese

7. vitamin E...make sure it is NOT SOY BASED

8. coconut oil..extra virgin organic....3 to 6 tablespoons daily...mix in with green tea.

9. MOST IMPORTANT ....."AVEMAR" aka AVE....(GOOGLE THIS AND READ THE WONDERS OF AVE) get your mom on ave...it is a fermented wheatgerm which is fabulous for the immune system.

i have done much research on colon cancer b/c my friend has stg 4 colon cancer and after 3 months on chemo therapy and on alternative therapy....the regimen i listed above.... has now shrunk his tumors and his doctors are amazed of his progress after 3 months.!!!!!

p.s...he started out at a cea ct of 39.7 and it is down to 4 after 3 months.  and btw his cea never rose during chemo therapy in conjunction with alternative supplements!!!!!!

any other questions please email me...i will be glad to help in anyway, prettylady2

Hi prettylady2,

Why taking vit E make sure it is NOT a soybean source? Isn't soybean good? All I learned is that soybean is good for health.

hello, in answer to your question about soy....

soy foods contain trypsin inhibitors that inhibit protein digestion and adversely affect pancreatic function.

if you are not aware....in a nut shell....CANCER shows up only WHEN ONE LACK THE ABILITY to DIGEST PROTEIN.

also, soy foods contain high levels of aluminum which is toxic to the nervous system and the kidneys.

most
modern soy foods are NOT fermented to neutralize toxins in soybeans and
are processed in a way that denatures proteins and increases levels of
carcinogens.

soy foods cause deficiencies in calcium and vitamin D in the body, both which are need to maintain healthy bones.

tofu consumption in mid-life is associated with the occurrence of alzheimer's disease in later life.

most
soybeans grown in the U.S. are genetically engineered to allow farmers
to use large amounts of herbicides, creating toxic runoff.

soy foods cause the body to REQUIRE more B12.

hope
this information helps you make a wise decision not to include soy in
your diet.  have a great day, email me if i you have anymore
questions.  prettylady2

What kind of chemo is the boyfriend on with this supplement therapy?  And how is he doing at this time?  My husband had colon resect in Sept 2006 with treatment for 6 months,(Stg 3).  Then his scan was clear afterwards.  Aug 2008 his scan shows colon cancer masts to liver, an inconclusive spot on the lung.  (now stg IV)  he has just started Avastin every other week and takes Xeloden 14 days on and 7 off for 8 weeks.  If this is effective, he will have surgery on the liver, with continuing treatments indefinitely.  I want to help all I can, but get so confused.  What I have found shows that a veg diet which includes lots of soy products is very effective in fighting cancer cells.  This came from "The Cancer Project" studies Dr Neal Bernard and Dr John McDougald. Thanks for your input.  Emmie
