My beloved husband - Jim lost his battle with bile duct cancer on Jan 14th, after 10.5 months of fighting. He was strong even up to the last day.

I'm so lost and alone without him. I still try to pray every night, but my heart is not in my prayers. How could God take such a wonderful man that had so much love to give?

Our hope is lost with Jim's death, but I do hope that someday there will be a cure or a chemo that works. I find it sad that supply and demand dictate the funds allocated for reseach. Unfortunately only a few people die from this type of cancer so the research firms don't find it important to find a cure or treatment. We must join together to find a cure.

May God answer your prayers - even though He chose not to answer ours. Jim had people and churches all over the world ( and I don't say that lightly) praying for him and a cure.

All I can say is try to stay positive, never give up hope and keep searching for answers from your doctor, hospitals and even God.

May you win this battle!

Hello Jim's wife,

This is Leonard from Alamo, California. I've been following Jim's situation and I am very sorry to hear the final outcome.

Bile Duct Cancer is a very serious and deadly illness. You are correct about the lack of research. But you mentioned very few people die from the type of cancer...this is not correct. Very few live more then a year or so after surgery...Chemo and Radition do not help.  A  Klatshin Tumor, if this is what Jim had is silent and deadly.

My heart goes out to you and your family.

Leonard

I am so sorry for the loss of your dear husband.  He was a brave fighter against this dreaded disease.  May the Lord comfort you in times of loneliness and give you strength in times of need.

Hello Tn,

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your loved one. I too can relate, losing my father on 01/26/08. My friend wrote me an email stating she lost her father to cancer as well. She explained she felt like she was robbed and it is so true.

I have to agree with Leornard, very few people do live because of this illness. There needs to be more awareness when it comes to this cancer. It spreads so quickly, making it nearly impossbile to catch until the late stages. My dad was diagnosed about 11/16/07 which is not very long before his death. He had been complaining about his stomach hurting, went to the doctor, the completed and x-ray and recommended some stomach medicine. The pain did not get any better and after a couple weeks later went back and he was diagnosed. At first surgery was thought to be an option, but after continued tests they found it wasn't possible. I hope I did not scare anyone on here, but I want people to know how serious it is and how quickly it spreads. There is no time like the present.

 Thoughts and prayers for everyone.
