Hi all,

I am desperately searching for help for my Dad - he was Stage 3B esophageal - in remission for about 6 mos. - now with aggressive mets to his hip and sacrum.  I know the outlook is grim, and I suspect there are possibly problems in his lungs/liver - getting a full body pet on Tuesday.   Anyone with any idea how to halt this??   Please help!

Hello macybean I don't know if this message can bring you any hope or not but it is worth investigating for your dad since his condition seems to be very serious. I have a friend who was declared terminal in December 2006 not expected to live long enough to celebrate Christmas which was three weeks away. His prostate cancer had spread throughout his whole body, Into every organ and all his bones. His lungs were so full of tumors he could hardly draw a breath. He was in tremendous pain and on heavy steroids. In desperation he began alternative treatments at the clinic I go to. He took Intravenous Vitamin C once weekly at the clinic along with daily injections at home (his nurse wife gave them to him or he even managed some himself) for a course of 21 days of 714X. In just a matter of a few weeks his condition began to improve and all tests and scans showed the cancer regressing. It is now over 13 months later and he remains cancer free. If you would like more information regarding these treatments let me know and I'll send you what I have. Blessings to you and your Dad.

Many thanks for this info...  I have heard good things about vitamin c infusions.    Did he do this with other treatment (conventional or otherwise)?   I don't know about doing it concurrent with chemo since I think they would sort of cancel each other out?   WE found out things are not AS bad as we feared - confirmed disease confined to hip at the moment...  suspicious things possibly brewing in lungs/liver but if it is cancer it is in its infancy so we can hopefully keep it from becoming full force.   His dr. is suggesting radiation, Taxol and 5-FU - probably the chemo after the rad is done bec. they are worried about effects on the intestines.  My father can't afford to lose anymore weight.  We are going for 2nd opinions re. treatment to make sure he's getting the most aggressive protocol he can tolerate.   His doctor said he COULD  have years if they can keep the disease confined to bones (and then beat it back there).  We'll see - I am not kidding myself about how aggressive this disease can be, and I am almost as worried about his ability to make it through the treatments as I am about the cancer itself.  Many thanks for any help/suggestions.

Hello,

I read your response and it is very very inspiring.  I would like to learn more about the treatment you are describing.  I am researching for a family member of mine.  A response with information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for any and all help,

Mary
