I wish someone that has had a similar experience with someone with the following stats and could tell me how their experience was and how long it took the cancer to advance. 78 year old woman had qhipple in April 07 to remove a tumor from Pancreas head just under 3cmm. they could not get it all and there were 3 lymph nodes it had spread to. She started Gemzar/tarceva in Sept/07. Oncologist says it is only pallative treatment. She had a slight rash for a couple days at first but no more since. She has
lost 50 plus pounds since July 07. Her cancer markers never were high even before the tumor was removed. I guess I get confused about understanding how long the Tarceva does what ever it is supposed to do. She has chronic diarrhea and does not eat all that much. The dr and nurse act like she is doing great but we want to know great compared to what??
