You should go to mercola.com for further info on sugar and cancer.  He is a leading doctor of alternative medicine in Chicago.  Also there is a therapy for cancer called Insulin Potentation Chemo Therapy  that works on this premise.  Cancer cells are starved of sugar in this therapy and then are blasted with a chemical agent because they open wide for sugar during the fasting process.  It is not an easy therapy because it leaves you weak, but not incapable of movement.  For more details go to kasamba.com and ask Dr. Elisabeth Cole where you might find someone locally who does this type of treatment.

Hi Allen I think if you read through the following websites you will change you opinion on Vitamin C and cancer http://www.medpagetoday.com/HematologyOncology/OtherCancers/ http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/30584.php http://www.alternativehealth.co.nz/cancer/vitamins/vitc.htm http://orthomolecular.org/resources/omns/v01n09.shtml

Why is this even an issue??? You find sugar in everything, 2/3 of Americans are overweight, they eat sugar with sugar. My kids would drink soda every minute of the day and why? because it is full with nothing but sugar.

You need to change over to natural or organic foods and give your body the best chance to survive.

I too believe that sugar (glucose) feeds the cells. According to a study I read when I was being treated for cancer that cancer cells are able to absorb the glucose directly from your system, where normal cells can not easily do that. That is why cancer grows so fast. Now for the kicker:

When you drink a Soda, you get Sugar(which feeds the cancer) and Phosphoric acid, which we all know makes your more acidic. SO you are creating this wonderful environment for cancer to grow, just by drinking a lot of soda. (the clear soda's are acidic too folks)

I got thru the cancer and treatment thanks to the Good Lord and my family. My taste buds can not taste sweet any longer, so soda tastes terrible....I am actually fortunate for that. By the way...Vitamin C is very bad for cancer patients. Take in very very limited quantities- cancer cells absolutely love it!

I lived through this for a reason. Maybe just for this info to be passed along....May you all be blessed.

Oncrx is absolutely correct. Every cell in your body, cancerous or not, needs sugar and if you don't feed it sugar your body will produce sugar. It's just that simple. There are a lot of reasons to not consume refined sugars but you need complex carbohydrates. Cancer cannot be cured or controlled by your sugar intake. If that were the case there would be no need for this message board. None of us would have had to endure the treatment we received. We could have just cut out the Pepsi. Through a major part of my adult life I followed an extremely healthful diet. I was considered a "health nut". Took large doses of vitamins and minerals, ran sometimes 30+ miles per week, lifted weights, etc... I never drank soda or added sugar to anything. My sugar intake was limited to complex carbs in the form of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. I still got Stage IV Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the tonsil with metastasis to the lymph nodes in my neck. Cancer really doesn't care what you eat, drink, or think. If it wants you it'll get you. The only thing you can hope is that you're in good enough condition to survive it and the treatment. Sorry, but if that wasn't the fact Lance Armstrong and millions of other healthy folks would have never had the big C.

My 2 Cents.

You are talking about intravenous Vit C. Which is wholey different.

They use Sodium Ascorbate in IV treatment. The type you eat is Ascorbic Acid.  There is no way on earth to eat enough Vit c to kill a cancer. You can find this out on-line too. About a year ago, I did a tremendous amount of research on this. In small doses like what you can eat, the cancer cell absorbs it and uses it for food.

I even considered IV sodium ascorbate if the methods I was using failed. Fortuneatly for me, liver flushes and chemo/radiation plus becoming more alkaline (less acidic) got rid of it. For now anyway-you never ever know if it will come back.

Hello Brandon cg My primary healthcare giver is a geneticist/medical doctor/alternative practitioner who is having great success treating patients with a variety of cancers using Intravenous Vitamin C and also high oral doses of Ascorbic Acid. I personally took weekly 50 gram infusions for half a year along with at least 10grams orally daily. I continue to take the 10grams daily(2,000mg five times a day) and up the dosage to tolerance(30,000gr or so) when ever I feel the first signs of a cold or other illness coming on. As a result I am healthy and strong and rarely even develope the sniffles. I also still take a maintenance 50gr infusion once every six weeks or so. Here is a page from this doctor's website which explains the human need for high daily doses of this amazing substance. http://www.anelloclinic.com/healthinfo/vitamin%20c.html http://www.anelloclinic.com/healthinfo/ascorbate.html ____

Hi Renee

Yes sugar is bad for you. Sugar is very acidic and feeds cancer as well. Cancer thrive in acidic enviroment. If you have sugar cravings is just mean that your immune is down and the cancer is stronger then you are at this moment . So you have to change your eating ,by having more fresh organic food as possible . Juicing is a good alternative.Stay away from preservatives and processed foods.

Instead of sugar try Stevia , Agave nectar ,Honey . No more than 6 tsp of honey/ day as this one sits in the border line.

Eat lots berries and fresh fruits, like dark red grapes ,bananas. They good when you have sugar cravings.

Cancer cant survive in the alkaline body . When your pH7.4 cancer cells stop growing at pH8.5 they die .

So my advice is to stay away from sugar no matter how hard it is.

Best regards

Liz

also stay away from foods that breakdown to sugar...like carbs...be very careful with carbs b/c they breakdown to sugar.  renee

Does anyone use Stevia as a sugar replacement? I bought some, the liquid form, but haven't tried it yet -- I think 7 drops is equal to a cup of regular sugar, it's very sweet from what I hear. It's from the leaves of an herb and is sold as a supplement in the US as the FDA hasn't approved it as a sugar substitute. Just wondered what people thought of it as I don't think it would have the same issues as the sugar that's been discussed here thus far.

Hi

Stevea is safe one drop more like a tsp of sugar we use the powder and that comes with a tiny spoon=1tsp.Agave nectar is safe too, and is good for baking, make a good topping ,on some Buckweet pancakes ,as it taste like maple syrup .I even find chocolate made with it ,have to find the site again and let you know. And 6 tsp of honey/day  is ok as well.
