Hello,
On January 28, 2008 I lost my beloved female tabbycat, Thimbles, to oral cancer. She had lost weight, could no longer eat and was drooling. Foolish me, I thought she had an abcessed tooth. When I went to the vet's that day, he took one look in her mouth and gave me the bad news. She was 19 years old so he did not suggest treatment. Needless to say, I came home without her. My daughter had gone with me and she didn't expect Thimbles to be coming home. I was in denial, the vet was going to give her some pills and she would be fine again. Like you, I have been looking on pet loss sites and crying with every memorial I read. The days seem so long and empty now. I know you must be hopeful but also preparing for Kirby to go to the Rainbow Bridge. Please feel free to contact me at any time if you need someone to talk to. If Kirby is still with you, set aside a time to tell him how much he has meant to you. Know that as you are going through this difficult time, you and Kirby are in my thoughts and prayers.
