I,m Jonathan and about to start the journey of esophagel cancer.
I was diagnosed last week and certainly my dance step has faltered somewhat since then.
The only answwr I know to "Why Me" is"Why Not Me."which still brings a wry smile.
Got result of CATSCAN yesterday and it was good news relatively speaking as the cancer has not spread anywhere else thus far and is confined to the tumour.
I am booked to see the surgeon next thurs. followed by the resection surgery probably a week later..
Reading about this Op.is fairly alarming to say the least.
My primary question
Is there any point in exploring non invasive protocols,given the stage 1 status.
because at present nobody in the medical profession has even mentioned an alternative.
Is this because radical surgery is so much superior to any other treatments.
Has anyone heard about DCA treatments for cancer.
I,m a fairly fit 70 year old who loves cycling and does couple 2 hour
work outs in the gym weekly.
I certainly celebrate life and laughter but wonder just how much of this I will lose after surgery.
I am fully aware of my great fortune in not having to worry about medical bills here in Canada and as stated earlier, after reading the Grim and the Good in this forum I,m truly delighted that somewhere like this exsists to share my feelings/emotions and I thankyou all for being here.
I,m not frightened for my future or the surgery but certainly take a few big gulps when I read about the journey afterwards.
Whatever,here,s a smile for all of us and I have to remember that life truly is
