anyone out there tried or familiar with rexin g in biliary cancer treatment - apparently studying it somewhere in santa monica - also apparently on a jhu message board re pancreic cancer - read a couple messages that made it sound new and hopeful?? - what about radio embolization?? - what about cyberknife?? - my mom was diagnosed with a klatskin tumor that has metastisized a couple weeks ago??

Yes. There is currently a Phase II study being conducted at the Sarcoma Oncology Center in Santa Monica.  The therapy does show great promise. If you Google Rexin-G you will get all kinds of info including registration information and contact info.  God Bless!

My mother, Stage IVb Gallbladder ca, has celebrated the first anniversary of Rexin-G treatment. She has received 5 cycles in between chemo. Rexin-G did not make the tumors disappear, but Rexin-G along with Gemzar-based chemo regimens has been keeping her disease at bay, i.e. stable disease (SD) with some progression. Rexin-G is probably available on a compassionate use basis in the US. The clinical trials are only for breast ca, pancreatic ca, sarcoma, and osteosarcoma. Some Americans travel to Asian Hospital and Medical Center in the Philippines, where the drug has been approved for all refractory solid tumors.
