I am extremely saddened and heart broken to inform all of you that my dad lost his fight to pancreatic cancer on February 7, 2008.  It has been an emotional time.  One thing I have to tell all of you is he is  not suffering any more.   He was an amazing Man.  He had close to 300 people come to his services.  He was and always will be lovved very much.  Thank You Darleen

I am so sorry Darleen. I know exactly how you feel. I lost my dad to this horrible disease only 4 weeks ago. It seems like just yesterday. He was diagnosed only 1 month prior to passing.

I know the pain you feel. It is surreal.

I know that our father's are in a better place and not suffering anymore.

Just remember - you are not alone in your grief.

Darlene,

I was so sorry to read about your Dad.  I lost my husband on 12/01/07 to PC, but I still keep up with this message board.  It seems like we all belong to this "horrible club".  I just don't know what to say to you.  It sounds like you have alot of family & friends.  My friend is an ER nurse in the hospital-she told one of the Drs. that my husband had PC-he asked if my husband was a nice guy-he said that it always seems that the nice ones get PC-it sounds like your Dad was a nice guy also.  Treasure the memories.

((((((((Darlene))))))))),

I'm so sorry to hear that you lost your Dad.  I completely know how you feel because I lost my husband just one day before.

There are some things that are worse than death, and one of those is watching those we love suffer battling this horrible disease.

Keeping you in my prayers.

Diane

To Diane and Darlene,

My condolences to you and your families.  I, too, have recently lost my dad to PC (01/04/08).  Forty one days after his passing, it still hurts to know he is no longer with us physically.  My dad was a "nice" man as well.  At his service, he had friends and colleagues that came to pay tribute to him on a Tuesday and close to 200 showed up.

I miss him terribly but I am also relieved that he is no longer suffering..no more vomiting...no more pain.  I know for sure he is where there is nothing but peace and happiness.

Stay strong friends and let us honor our family members that have gone ahead of us by supporting the cause to find a cure and to live our lives purposefully.

Always,

Geri

Darlene,

I'm so sorry about your Dad.  I lost my husband Nov. '07 to the same exact cancer.  It was the most horrible thing to watch a beautiful, generous, physically fit and successful in every area of his life, man, lose the battle of pancreatic cancer.  The last couple of months he didn't quite know where he was or who I was.  I've become a huge supporter and am involved with PanCan.  It's a wonderful organization with alot of information and support.  Someting has to be done about early detection and paying close attention to the genetic factor.  My husbands sister died of the same thing just 2 years ago and I thought I'd never get over the loss of her and then my husband being diagnosed was just unbelievable.  He was gone 9 months after his diagnosis.  My heart breaks for all who've gone through this as it's the most undignified way to have to die.  Take good care of yourself though.  -denise in sacramento

(((to my fellow club members)))

No one knows unless they have been there.  I lost my Dad on Sept 27 2005.  It's been 2 years and the  pain is still there.  My mother and father were together 58 years.  They were married for 54 years.  It's true it's always the nice ones.  I can't even fathom why.  I wear my purpel ribbon in support of anything that may be close to being a cure.  My deepest and heartfelt sympathy to you.  I am hear to be an ear to anyone that needs it.  Whatever I can do to help drop me a line

My deepest condolences
