Alitma--Chemo

Hi Ellen... I hope this reaches you. I had another dose of Alitma last Friday and am recovering from it and that decadron... lots of fatique. Do you find you have shortness of breath from it? Anyway, it seems to be working as my Doctor emailed me today that my cancer marker test taken last Friday showed a significant drop! This is good news, and makes up in part for the loss of hair, neuropathy, fatigue etc. How is it going for you? Bill

So glad to hear. I am so pleased for you! That is GREAT! I had
my second dose monday with enourmous fatigue that is
improving today (SAT), but it is still a push to move. My doc
started me onsteroids (decadron) early to clear up some
phlegm which has been a miracle for my almost constant
cough! So I did the 2x/day around the alimta nad then have
stayed on 4mg each am. Needless to say I am a pile of jitters
on the couch! But hey, not coughing or wheezing, so I am
happy. Just found out I might have a small brain met, so I will
be looking into gamma knife options for that which is hopeful.
I had some visual arcs and headaches as well as needing to
wear my glasses more, which made me suspicious, so I asked
for an MRI. It is early and they were amazed to find it as it is so
small, no edema or anything. I get scanned on the 27th and
will see if the alimta is helping when I hear from that in early
June. I will post something when I know. Stay well and positive!
