Subject: Has Anybody Used The Natural Japanese Product Called Fucoidan
Date: 05/17/2005
I have Lung cancer, Stage 3A or 3B (the doctor still is not sure whether to classify it 3A or 3B). I’m currently being treated with radiation (19 sessions so far with 6 to go) and Chemo on a weekly basis (4 down with up to 12 more sessions). I have not got a progress prognosis as of yet how I’m doing, but I do have a question.

My wife is Japanese and has been reading about this product (it’s natural) called Fucoidan (under the brand name of Umi No Shizuku), which is very popular in Japan for treating cancer. Their advertisements say that it can be used with radiation and chemo. It’s a natural product that is made from certain types of seaweed. It is very expensive. My question that I need answered, is there anyone here in the US that has tried this product and did it help. All the testimonials that were given about this product came from Japan and I would rather hear from some one that has used the product here before buying it.

Thank you very much for your time.

Though I'm not familiar with the product you mentioned, I am very familiar with fucoidan itself. My mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer IIIc in Dec of 2000, was debulked and had 9 months of chemo. She enjoyed about a year without problems but then had a recurrence in late 2002. Another 9 months of chemo followed. Since January of this year she has been taking a liquid-based fucoidan product daily and during that period her markers for the ovca have not only remained in double digits but have dropped slightly and her CT scans have remained clear. I also have a friend who used the same product topically to clear up a basal cell skin cancer from his face in a matter of several weeks. I'd be happy to answer any questions I can.

Peace!
Mary

Thank you for your response. It's very encouraging to hear about your Mother. I still haven't started to use the product, but this certainly makes me want to look into this further. I'm hanging in there. After Chemo (8 sessions) and Radiation (35 sessions), I'm finally done with my current treatments. I had a CT this past Tuesday and next Mon. (11th) I will finally go in to get a progress report. Depending on what the outcome is of the progress report, the doc might want to put me on Terceva (I've read good and bad stuff about this). Anyway, thanks so much for your response, John K.

Subject: Fucoidan and Cancer
Date: 08/02/2005
Fact: Limu moui contains a remarkable natural compound called fucoidan that has been compared to breast milk because of its exceptional value to human health and welliness. Unlike the waters of Japan, Limu Moui thrives in dense aquatic forests in the pristine and unspoiled temperate seawater off the coast of Tonga in the South Pacific. In Tonga, local kahunas (medicine men) have long practiced traditional healing methods and have understood well the restorative properties of limu moui, but until recently, the potential of limu moui was unknown in the United States. The people in the regions of Japan where mozuku (sea plant) is used enjoy longer lives and lower incidences of cancer when compared to other parts in Japan. Japanese scientists have isolated a substance in LImu Moui that promotes healthly living, seems to slow down the aging process, and fight a myriad of diseases. This substance is called Fucoidan. A large number of recent scientific studies (over 600) have shown fucoidan fights against cancer formation, development and growth.
While there is no cure for cancer, there are four types of treatment: surgery, radiation, chemotherapy and biological therapies. Of the four, biological therapies are the lest known. Biological therapies involve boosting the body's natural defenses. Cells have natural defenses against cancer, and the immune system will also attack cancerous growths. By introducing substance into the body that boost thse responses, some cancers can be successfully treated. Fucoidan's abilikty to help control the proliferation of cancerous cells as well as its ability to boost the body's immune system has been widley researched in laboratories across the world. In Japan , researches discovered that by introducing fucoidan to cancerous cells the cancer was destroyed. This study showed that cancer cells in a laboratory dish were completely wiped out within 72 hours of being treated with fucoidan.
Many people have received dramatic results with fucoidan rich Limu Moui here in Mississippi and other parts of the U.S. A man in our community was diagnosed with Prostrate cancer and started a mega dose of Limu Moui. His PSA test dropped from 5 to 4.3 before surgery. Only a small spot of cancer was found on the prostrate which was removed along with some lymph nodes. No other cancerous cells were found and he did not have to have any further treatments. His immune system was built up and his surgery scars healed without hardly any scar.

Thank you very much concerning the information you have shared with me regarding Fucoidon. This Limu Moui which contains fucoidon, where can it be acquired? In health stores? On the Internet?

My situation is on a holding pattern right now. All treatments (radiation & chemo are complete) and the lung doc has got me on Tarceva (for a little over a month now). I'm suppose to be on it for a year. The problem with Tarceva is that they really don't know too much about the after effects when a person is finished taking it. In many cases, Tarceva is given to extend life. I really think it's time that I take more charge with my situation.

Again, thank you very much for the information.
