Hey,
My husband had a GBM removed in 2006 and underwent radiation therapy and Chemo (Temodar). He was onto his last cycle this past month, when his neurooncologist found a suspicion of 2 new small regrowths. He mentioned the Avastin/CPT-11 as a treatment if they were infact tumors. I've heard nothing but great results with this treatment and wanted to hear more from people who have experienced it personally or know someone who has. He is only 28 years old and we have beat it this far and will continue the battle!!
Congrats on the good fight! I'm 40 and facing the same problem. My GBM was removed in Aug. of 2007 and I'm also putting up a fight. My Doctors for Duke have put me on Avastin/CPT-11 and I'm getting ready for my third treatment next week. So far I have done well with the treatments and I'm looking forward to my next MRI. I, like you, have heard great things about Avastin & CPT-11. Time will tell.
I have great family and community support. It's UNREAL. However, I still believe prayer, love, support, and having a good attitiude is the best medicine. Tell your Husband to keep his chin up. We have much left to do to give up now.
Prayers are with you,
