Starting Avastin After 11+ Cycles On Sutent

I will be starting a new treatment to attack my cancer as soon as it's approved. I had just started my 12th cycle on Sutent, however a spot in left lung grew from 1.4 cm to 2.4 cm in two months causing some sharp chest pain last Friday. I also have two spots in my right lung, a tumor in my right adrenal gland, and 3 spots 1 mm in size in my abdomen.

Has anyone received Asatin as a treatment?

How has it been for you (side effects/successful)? 

Any info is appreciated and if you have questions concerning my experiences while on Sutent just ask.

My husband has had many of the mets that you have experienced.  He did try Sutent following high dose Interleukin 2 treatments and Nexavar.  The Sutent caused the foot syndrome and was stopped following the discovery of brain mets.  Sutent caused weakness and fatique, but the foot syndrome was the worst. Yet, it was all bearable. The brain was treated successfully!  Surgery to the upper left lobe met and gamma knife to the brain stem met. He did not start getting the abdomen mets until now, very similar to yours.  The brain was treated successfully!  We will research Avastin as well and hope it could be a good drug for us.  My husband is about to start Torisel and hoping to slow the mets down.   What symptoms or problems do you have from your abdomen mets???  None????  My husband is experiencing severe anemia and no clue as to why.  Keep up the fight, Roxane

Hi Terry, I'm interested in your treatment as a whole. I am in my second year with stage 4 cancer. When you found out you had cancer, did you change your diet and or take nutritional supplements or did you continue to eat as you had before the diagnosis? I'm trying to research what others have done other than regular treatment (such as sutent). Also, if you have any pointers for fighting/treating side effects, please pass them along. I have trouble with rashes/chicken pox rash/digestive issues. Thanks, Laura

My wife finished her 8th cycle of Sutent and things are looking well until 2 weeks ago when we discover from CT result that there are new nodules & met in her liver. Prior to this, she only has 4 small nodules in her lung (1 remission from Sutent).  Our doctor is now considered whether we stop taking Sutent and try other option.  He mentions Interferon .  I'm curious about Interleukin2 whether those are more effective or any different from Interferon?    Any major Side effects while your husband was on IL2?  I'm trying to seek for  best course of treatment for her and would really appreciate your thoughts.
